Fletcher and Harveys

I was sound asleep today when mummy came so she went and expressed whilst I just lay there! But then I got a dirty nappy and started to get restless so mummy changed me and then I had cuddles.

I was still a grumpy boy today and it seemed that every time I was in the middle of a feed I got really red in my face, arched my back, and stretched out my legs. It just didnt look like I wanted to be fed! But after the feed I was having cuddles so I loved that!

Did you know while I was having a cuddle with mummy Aunty Natalie came in for her last cuddle. She is going home to Melbourne today and we were all very sad. Both mummy and her even had tears because Aunty Natalie didnt want to leave me. Mummy took photos of me with Aunty Natalie. When it was time for Aunty Natalie to go I got put back into my cot and I had my nappy changed again! A POOEEY one!! AGAIN!!! It took a long time for me to settle, mummy and Aunty Natalie wanted to wait until I was asleep before they left. Aunty Natalie waited a long time for me to settle and kept trying to talk to me to make me happy but she had to go and pack so she kissed me goodbye and had a little tear and walked away. It was very sad! I kept looking at Aunty Natalie and I kept thinking how lucky I was to have such a beautiful Aunty! I will hopefully see her next year when mummy takes me to NewZealand. I want to thank Aunty Natalie for coming to meet me! She has come the MOST FAR just to meet me! I love you Aunty Natalie. 

Mummy stayed a little longer to try and settle me but every time mummy tried to leave I cried. But mummy kept rubbing my head and holding my hand and eventually I gave in my tiredness and fell asleep! But it was ok, because my beautiful 3rd cousin works there and she kept an eye on me so that mummy could leave without being sad!

I also got a prayer blanket from one of mummy’s friends from work! Id like to thank mummy’s friend and her church for giving me such a special gift!

Hello again everyone…. Im still in my big boy chair today although mummy and daddy didnt see me in it. I was very unsettled when mummy and daddy came and I was even having cuddles. Mummy changed my nappy twice when she was there and that didnt help settle me. I have been using my mobile and even the nurses have been checking it out! I hope they dont waste my batteries. Well it is my last day with Aunty Natalie tomorrow so I hope I get lots of cuddles out of my cot. The nurses are still filling in my cry chart and are discussing the things that make me cry. We’re all working on it! Thank you to everyone who leaves messages for me and for mummy and daddy! We will be able to keep them forever and it is nice to keep us strong and hopefull. Love you all!

My mummy and daddy uploaded some new pictures so make sure you go have a quick squizz at me! My visits with my Aunty and Uncle are there as are my pictures of my Aunty Natalie. At the moment I am still waiting for mummy and daddy to come visit today but the night nurse said I was sound asleep when mummy phoned to see how I was! I hope everyone has a good day! Well the first thing I must say is HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my favourite uncle. Timmy I hope you had a good day today and that Laura and Sue gave you lots of cuddles. Mummy says she is sorry that she didnt have a present for you on Friday but next time she sees you she will have one all wrapped up for you!

I also want to tell everyone what lovely friends mummy has. She had a tear in her eye when she read my messages as I think she realises every day just how lucky she is to have such beautfiul friends. I will be very lucky too as one day I will get to come and spend lots of time at home with everyone! And you know I have 3 friends of my own, Tai, Carter and Lilly. Lilly is my friend at the hospital who has almost been there as long as me. She is having an up and down time just like me as she keeps getting sick, better, sick, better but now she is sick again. So if you don’t mind may you please say a little prayer for her too! And Tai and Carter- LOOK OUT! I want to play and as soon as I get out of here its a date!

AND DID YOU KNOW???? I got put into a big cot today!! A BIG ONE!!! Mummy wanted to put me in one ever since I arrived at PMH but today the day finally came! And I was in a bouncer when mummy came today and I was wide awake!! WHOOHOO it is so much fun sitting up like a big boy in a big boy’s chair! And then the day just got even better when my Aunty Natalie bought me a moving mobile with a caterpillar on it! AND it sings too! Oh it is so cool! I loved staring at it and it did make me fall asleep!! Oh thank you so much Aunty Natalie and may you thank Uncle Tom too! I love it and so does mummy!

The doctor on his rounds this morning noticed that I was grizzling…….. again. And he asked the nurse “why is that everytime I come around he seems unsettled? And what can we do about it?” So, the outcome of that was

1. Turned morphine back up (only a little- am I ever going to get off it though?)

2. Made my feeds 35mls two hourly (just incase my tummy was hurting from the big feeds of 50mls)

3. Put me in a cot and a big boys chair ( to see if it was because I was bored)

4. Making a “cry chart” to write down when and why the nurses think I am crying. (mummy gets to write down too)

SO yes mummy thinks this doctor is a very clever man and thinks that they are making an effort to find out what it is that is making me uncomfortable. Trying to eliminate!

So yeah I have written alot but I think its because I am happy and my mummy and daddy are happy too!

The end to another long week, not many more to go but it was certainly a day to remember! It was a busy day that I had. Mummy came early again at 7am and did you know that my Great Uncle Tim and my Great Aunty Sue came to see me again today. Thank you for the message you left me Great Uncle Tim and Great Aunty Sue, it was my pleasure to see you guys again… when I get home we can have as many cuddles as we want, although I did enjoy both of my cuddles with you. I was a little grumpy though but its probably because Im still unsettled from my morphine drop. They keep upping my feeds too, so the nurses aren’t sure whether I am angry for 1.too much food, 2.not enough food, 3. morphine drop, 4.a sore tummy..so they need to keep an eye on me. I had 3 pooey nappies which I told you guys yesterday is really good! Mummy was so lucky she got to change all 3. Sue, Tim and Mum went to have lunch and when mummy came back she brought Aunty Natalie with me. I was very settled then so they just sat and watched me. Mummy got me out for a cuddle later and boy oh boy did I get cross then! They tried to feed me and I didnt really like that, oh I was so grumpy but then out of nowhere I just went to sleep! JUST LIKE THAT! It was very unexpected especially because of all the noise I was making. Mummy stayed til late too but the nurse looking after me in the night time was cuddling me when mummy left. Hopefully more cuddles tomorrow, can’t wait!

OHOH they turned my morphine down… and I was feeling okay until I woke up and then boy oh boy what a grumpy boy I got! I didn’t really like how I felt when they did that! Mummy was really worried as Im not normally that grumpy! She had a few tears but the nurse was really sweet and explained how the morphine reduction worked. Mummy only stayed for a few hours today and then she went shopping with her sister and mummy. But Aunty Natalie popped in and had a cuddle. I like her, she keeps calling me “cute”. She says “he’s so c-ute”… she can stay as long as she wants- she gives good cuddles. When mummy rang up the nurse told her that I had been a little unsettled but was currently asleep. I even did a poo (which is a good thing because it means my bowels are working well after my operation!) Everyone gets very excited when I do one so its a good thing! Mummy hasnt changed one in a while so maybe I should keep one just for her tomorrow. Because I was so grumpy with the doctors for turning down the morphine, they turned it up just a little bit more so I can get used to it a little more slowly!
